Although kilos have been collected by the greater influx of people, the waste has been deposited in the containers and bags
After three days of intense work on cleaning up the event attracts more people throughout the Fair in September, the Day of the Pilgrimage, the Department of street cleaning has collected a total of 44,980 kilos of trash.
This represents an increase of 10% over last year and has been one of the most crowded pilgrimages in recent years.
Despite this increase in the number of kilos, so has the waste collected in containers and bags which shows that awareness campaigns are paying the council.
Of these nearly 45,000 kilos, 12,020 were placed in containers located in the path reinforcement and around the sanctuary, with 1,690 containers in the yellow bins.
Thanks to the manual and mechanical sweeping is collected 32,960 kilos.
At the concert before the day of the Pilgrimage, New Condomina, gathered a total of 3,970 kilos.
