Murcia University opened today at the Faculty of Economics and Business a facade that makes filter, reducing solar radiation by 50%.
The facade that covers the center includes a second glass skin that attenuates selective excess natural lighting within the building and interior overheating, which improves comfort and reduces lighting energy consumption for air conditioning, both in winter and summer.
This facade solves the problems surrounding glare, light control at home and greenhouse, with consequent increases in the cooling load and electricity consumption, which generated large glass surfaces of the Faculty.
In addition, the glass causing loss of heat in winter and summer temperatures increase, anomalies have been resolved with this second skin designed selective glass that reflects some of the incident radiation, some of it absorbed and a final pass into the interior.
The opening ceremony was chaired by the Vice Chancellor for Economic and Infrastructure, Antonio Calvo-Flores, and the Minister for Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín.
