The Department of Infrastructure and Community Services, directed by José Arce, has launched a plan that has saved 600,000 euros in electricity consumption of 92,000 streetlights in the municipality.
This plan was launched on January 1 with the following energy saving measures:
-Renovation and improvement of existing lighting type LED lamps, maintaining the intensity and reducing power consumption.
-Reducing the intensity of illumination from the lighting of the lamps to its off (previously reduced the intensity of the lamps from 24 hours to shutdown).
It has achieved an average of four hours of reduced electricity consumption.
-Replacement of the photocells for controlling astronomical clocks off and on, programmed with a delay of 15 minutes, getting an hour a day electricity savings.
These measures have led to a decline in service quality significant for the city, but the economic cost has been reduced by 600,000 euros.
Last year the bill was almost 6 million euros.
It has also stopped issuing the 1,770 tonnes of CO2 atmosphere.
Perform these actions has not been a cost to city coffers since the implementation of measures, worth 60,000 euros, have been borne by the companies awarded the maintenance service.
