Councilman street cleaning and waste collection, Jose Rios, explained that "in the last three years the council has invested heavily to bury 300 points of containers, of which 50% are in districts where there is lateral load ".
Ros has announced that "we will continue working on this project which will enable the next year, double that figure, reaching 600 points underground."
The mayor added that "we are also doing a project together with the Directorate General of Culture, to bury the containers of 46 points which are located in area of high archaeological protection."
Ros responds to statements by Secretary of Environment of the Socialist Municipal Executive, Maria Teresa Cerezo, and shows further that "the City meets and exceeds the European legislation which stipulates that there must be a collection point for each 500 inhabitants, as in Murcia there is one for every 400 inhabitants. "
