Secretary of Environment of the Municipal Executive Socialist Maria Teresa Cerezo, denounces the lack of underground containers and collection in the parishes, garden areas and suburbs of Murcia on the basis of the results of different audits that the Executive Social Council has made in the districts of the municipality.
Cherry says that this is just another example of the continuing inequalities between citizens living in the districts and those living in the center that in many cases they want to recycle and lack of recycling containers prevents it.
The environment secretary insists that "you can find recycling containers of glass, paper and packaging in a single downtown street in a district of Murcia. To give two examples, Algezares more than five thousand inhabitants only there are five recycling containers and Stables with almost six thousand the number of recycling containers is nine figures clearly insufficient. "
In this situation continues for the Environment, "must be added the poor condition of many of the containers for garbage collection, which in some cases they become overwhelmed and waste accumulate in the soil. Cerezo believes that "This situation does not encourage recycling at all" and calls to City Hall "more work in this area now that is handling the new contract cleaning and selective collection for the next twenty years."
Moreover, the environment secretary pointed out that thanks to the 8.5 million from the Government of Spain under Plan E in the last two years, the City of Murcia has been burying more than 400 containers throughout the town because they has buried not one's own funds.
Cerezo asked the council for street cleaning and waste collection is not limited to manage the money you receive and to bid for underground containers.
