The years of increased investment effort in Murcia road by the City and Regional Government coincided with the worst by the Ministry of Development, which since 2004 has only held two performances in road infrastructure, the expansion of a third lane in a section of the western ring and the Puerto de la Cadena.
The latter project also was tendered in July 2003 by the government under José María Aznar.
Has proved more effective in suppressing the projects, some already approved and even hired.
The National Government has announced that Murcia is left without the investment of 1,029 million euros and with them, without building, among other projects, the Highway Reguerón contracted for more than a year.
Mayor's view this is the first work to be recovered from the drawer of the Ministry of Development, once again Rodríguez Zapatero has corrected himself and admitted that the cut was "excessive."
A cut which placed Murcia as the community most affected by Public Works.
Nobody beats the region in the volume of money earmarked for building roads ultimately not spend a euro.
Very unlike the case of Castilla-La Mancha, La Rioja, Navarra, Basque Country, Canary Islands or the Balearic Islands, where it was reduced a penny.
And unlike what occurred in other works, as is the case of Cantabria, Andalusia and Catalonia, where some actions have been rehabilitated after announcing they were going to cancel.
Therefore, the Mayor has sent a letter requesting the Minister of Public Works to reconsider the decision to remove these works, especially Reguerón Highway, for its strategic importance and are crucial not only for mobility in the municipality of Murcia, but to articulate all transits of the European Mediterranean Basin and North African connection to central Europe.
The projects "lost" Murcia are:
- Highway Reguerón: 240 million euros.
Awarded in July 2009.
- Highway Santomera-Zeneta: 110 million
- Arch North: 133 000 000
- Arch North: 160 million
- Third rail A-7, Monteagudo-Orihuela: 93 million
- Motorway Murcia-Catral: 198 million
- Third rail A-30 Puerto de la Cadena-Miranda: 67 million
- MU-30 Third rail link to 7 and 31 MU: 28 million
45 houses demolished
House claims that the Ministry take action to end the state of abandonment in which about 1,800 are affected by the highway, with whom the mayor met last month after asking her to "pray for us and help us out of where has put the Ministry of Development, that we ignore, "according to the chairman of the platform owners, Jose Ortiz.
The stretch of Beniaján to Zeneta is the one who accumulates the largest number of homes and where to date 45 houses had been demolished the 150 that exist in the entire path.
The Mayor has urged the Minister to end the process of getting started reaching land expropriation agreements with owners of land and houses, many of which are in a situation of urgent need.
Moreover, House recalls that the House was against the decision of the Ministry of Public Works to remove the Highway Reguerón considering it an essential infrastructure to ensure mobility in the city and essential to close the network of roads and highways that recent years has run the City Council and the Government of the region.
