One more year, the photo contest "Murcia. Ethnography, Culture and Traditions" continues to attract the attention of professional and amateur photography.

The fifth edition has been together about two hundred participants, interested in images tradition and history of Murcia.

Río_Caballerizas Mills Area hosts this afternoon the awards to the winners of the fifth annual contest, this time focused on biodiversity, which in 2010 marks the International Year of Biodiversity in accordance with UNESCO.

After the awards ceremony, which was chaired by the Councillor for Culture and European Programmes, Fatima Barnuevo, took place the inauguration of the exhibition of the winning and selected.

The jury, chaired by the Councillor for Culture, Fátima Barnuevo, was made by Manuel Fernandez-Delgado, Head of the Museum of the City of Murcia, Elena Montaner, Professor at the University of Murcia, Paco Salinas, Director of the Festival Fotoencuentros and Carmen Hernández, head of Space Río_Caballerizas Mills, as members.

The competition have attended a total of 189 jobs, of which 77 cases have been submitted to the mode A (photograph on cultural landscapes and regional biological diversity), 90 works have done to the form B (current picture), and 22 to type C (historical photography.)

The winners of the three modes are:

- Category A

First prize of 600 euros: María del Carmen Martínez Corbalán with "mud, salt, earth and water."

Second prize of 400 euros: Salvador García Juliá flowering in the Picarcho.

- Category B

First prize of 600 euros: José Carlos Ñíguez Carbonell with "Bathroom Health."

Second prize of 400 euros: María Luján Ortega to "Lots to sew."

- Category C

First prize of 600 euros: Pedro Corbalan Sanchez's "Pilgrimage."

Second prize of 400 euros: Encarnación Heredia Buigues with "Days of beach."
