The Governing Board of the City of Murcia has given the green light this morning to the collaboration between local and regional levels to carry out the day center services to dependent elderly day centers in the municipality.
This is the first agreement signed between the municipality and autonomous region to carry out the provision of that service to those seniors who were recognized by the dependence extent permitted by law.
In total, the agreement holding 80 seats, leaving 20 more places for those who, being dependent, have not reached the level established by the Law Unit.
The service must include at least the following benefits:
- Basic services: care assistance in activities of daily living and accessible transportation service.
- Specialized services: prevention, counseling and guidance for the promotion of autonomy.
Social care and rehabilitation, care and personal development counseling, physical rehabilitation, and maintenance program memory and mental capacity, establishment of environmental conditions conducive to the improvement of orientation in time and space to those who suffer from Alzheimer or other dementia.
The day center also has the support service for users who so request and must be paid.
The service will be provided Monday through Friday (except holidays and weekends), with a minimum of 40 hours a week, from 9 to 17 hours.
The site has an individual file for each user which is expressed as a minimum health information, social and rehabilitation.
In addition to health care and food, users are offered fitness and physical therapy, personal care services, psychological care, social care, occupational therapy, support and intervention with families and adapted transport.
