Quality control of menus and diets that oversees the City Council through the Municipal Health Service is an indispensable tool for ensuring proper health care.
To further this goal this morning signed a cooperation agreement the mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, and the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, led the design and implementation of community nutrition activities and evaluation of nutritional quality , health and sensory collective food services managed by the City.
Both institutions have agreed to implement scientific research to control and evaluation of menus managed by the city of Murcia in school cafeterias, kindergartens, social service centers, summer camps and free time at home meals and other services social restoration.
This will set the quality requirements and evaluation indicators developed to provide menus, and the conditions to be met by the companies to offer a catering service safe and consistent with the characteristics of a healthy diet and acceptable.
The work includes a sensory analysis of the menus since it is designed not only the meals meet the Mediterranean diet, but also meets parameters of texture, size, smell, color and flavor.

The collaboration between the City and the University of Murcia in the control of prepared foods will not start now.
