The Franco regime created the "homo patiens" an individual "patient, resigned and stoic" as one of the conclusions of the doctoral thesis presented at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Murcia by Salvador Cayuela Sánchez.
The findings of the study, which obtained excellent cum laude, also indicate that this model of person "was subject to the reality of their circumstances and was a key part in sustaining the regime and the regime's preferred real work" .
To Cayuela Sánchez, the Franco regime can be divided into two differential stages, the first of which come until 1959 and the second, from this year until 1975 when the dictator dies.
The author of the doctoral thesis analyzed the mode of operation of mechanisms such as the Youth Front, vertical trade unionism, social insurance and economic policy of the regime in its various stages, as well as the educational system.
This research has been directed by Professor Antonio Campillo, newly elected dean of the Faculty of Philosophy.
