José Ballesta chairs the Aguas de Murcia Board of Directors, which approves an investment of more than 12 million euros that will generate 550 direct jobs in the municipality.

Improvements and expansions in the sanitation network included in the Action Plan will be carried out without the neighborhood suffering inconvenience or interruption of service.

The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today chaired the meeting of the Board of Directors of Aguas de Murcia, which has approved the Action Plan for the period 2018-2019, whose global allocation of more than 12 million euros, it had already been approved in the Board of Directors held last March.

In terms of geographical distribution, it should be noted that 80.3% of the total amount of the 2018-2019 Action Plan of the municipal company will be used in works in districts, leaving the remaining 19.7% to undertake the necessary interventions in the center of Murcia.

With the execution of this Action Plan, it is estimated the creation of around 550 direct jobs and more than 800 indirect jobs in the municipality, throughout the period 2018-2019.

The improvements and expansions of the sanitation network will be the most important economic item, since 5,282,666 euros will be dedicated to this, in order to be able to carry out 40 works.

Also 27 actions will be executed on the supply network, with a projected budget of 2,718,542 euros.

For its part, 4,041,640 euros will be allocated to the improvement of facilities (pumping, deposits, etc.).

The document finally approved by the Board of Directors comes from the technical analysis of the Directorate of Water Operations of Murcia, which has foreseen the execution of detailed projects based on strictly technical reasons, such as the obsolescence or malfunctioning of current networks or the environmental and technological improvement.

With regard to the new sanitation networks, the criterion of the number of homes benefited with the new infrastructure has prevailed.

During these two years, the work will be carried out in 29 districts and 69 streets in the urban area of ​​Murcia, although it has already been foreseen in the programming that the neighborhood will not suffer any inconvenience or service interruptions.

Likewise, and as a result of the interventions in the streets, a complete renovation of the asphalt will be carried out, which will affect 66,150 square meters.
