MurciaenBici vindicates the opening of public roads and the defense of the cattle trails (24/04/2018)

The association MurciaenBici has highlighted the breach of the Law of Livestock in the Cordel de los Valencianos, one of our main VV.PP, during an activity organized to highlight the environmental, heritage and sports value of the Cordel de los Valencianos, as well as as to claim the defense of the VV.PP of the Region.

Despite having the authorization of the Government Delegation and the accompaniment of the Municipal Police during part of the route, the participants have not been able to travel through the Cordel, whose route is cut in its section between the Cabezo Blanco and the Contraparada.

The LAW 3/1995, of March 23, of Vias Pecuarias considers complementary uses of the cattle routes the walk, the practice of the senderismo, the ride and other forms of sportive movement on non-motorized vehicles whenever it respects the priority of the cattle transit ( art 17.1) and includes, among very serious infractions (art. 21.2c), the installation of obstacles or the performance of any type of act that totally prevents the transit of livestock or provided for other compatible uses.

The route, with 56 participants, ran through lanes of the Huerta from the Malecon through the Arboleja to Guadalupe enjoying a spring environment.

There were stops at two Molinos (del Amor and Funes, or four wheels), where JA Moreno from the Huerta Viva Association commented on their heritage interest and conservation problems.

Once in Guadeloupe, the procession ascended to the Cordel de Los Valencianos where they met with a dozen hikers, residents of the District, who joined the group MurciaenBici to claim the opening of public roads and the protection of the VV.PP.

Faced with the impossibility of continuing with the Cordel de los Valencianos, when the pass was cut, two groups were made that undid the road to surround the hills and conclude in the Contraparada.

The group of cyclists with all-terrain bicycles could contemplate the cork oaks that survive in the Rambla del Talón.
