Cambiemos Murcia will propose at the Plenary Session of the City Council next Thursday a motion urging the municipal government team to negotiate with the Autonomous Community and the LAT concessionaire an increase in frequencies at peak hours of bus line 39B, which covers the journey from Pío Baroja, in El Infante, to the Espinardo campus.
The objective of the initiative, explained the spokesman Nacho Tornel, is to facilitate the possibility of transshipment between the lines that come from the South Coast and that coincide with 39B.
"If this is fluid, more people will be able to use lines 6, 18, 26, 28, 29 and 50", which also encourages the use of public transport in the southern districts.
Tornel has pointed out that the line 39B takes 18 minutes but only has 5 expeditions in the morning, between 8.15 and 9.15, and others in the afternoon, between 14.55 and 15.35 hours.
The frequency is, therefore, "improvable not only to cover the promotion of this line, but to benefit the rest that connects with it".
The mayor of the municipal training has also insisted on the need to reform the system of acquisition and renewal of the off-bus vouchers as a means to reduce travel time, in addition to carrying out other actions that help to improve journeys as measures to facilitate traffic in roundabouts and accessibility at stops.
Unify rates
He also reiterated the importance of betting on the tariff unification "once and for all".
As an example, he has cited line 32, which links Alquerías, Beniel, Puente Tocinos and El Raal with Ronda de Levante to access the university through the tram.
For now, in the absence of this unification, students have to buy two tickets, one for the bus and one for the tram.
It is, in the words of Tornel, "an example of the benefit that would unify bills without the need for more infrastructure."
In addition, he has suggested in his motion the creation of a line 39C Los Garres-Algezares-Barrio del Progreso-Ronda Sur with transshipments of lines 6,18, 26, 28, 29 and 50.
