The Mayan Festival will return next Monday April 30 to fill Murcia with songs dedicated to the Virgin.

The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, explained that "this event is one of the most special that takes place every year since it combines devotion, tradition, folklore and culture".

The Federation of Peñas Huertanas have organized an event, called PreMayos, for next Saturday, April 28, starting at 7:00 pm, in which six folkloric groups belonging to Peñas Huertanas will do some demonstrations of dances and songs in the Plaza de Belluga. , Glorieta de España, Plaza de Las Flores, Plaza San Bartolomé, Plaza Romea and Plaza Santo Domingo.

On Monday, April 30, at 9:45 p.m., in the Plaza de la Cruz, the Night of the Mayos will begin with the Canto de Los Mayos interpreted by the Auroros of Rincón de Seca and the Peña Huertana L'Artesa, giving the kick-off to a night where more than 30 peñas huertanas will be traveling through the different altars that will be placed in honor of the Virgin in churches and other locations.

This event will be attended by the Mayor and Councilman Jesús Pacheco, the President of the Peñas Huertanas Federation, Juan Pablo Hernández, the Queen of the Huerta, Laura Navarro, and her Court of Honor.

This year's poster is made by the photographer Joaquín Zamora and it shows an image of the atmosphere created around the Cruz de Mayo installed in the Plaza de la Cruz in Murcia.
