Great day of university sport for the UCAM that continues increasing its advantage in the medal table of the Spanish University Championships thanks to the great results of its athletes.
On Saturday, 18 new medals were won: 16 in athletics and 2 in judo.
The athletics events are being played in Andújar (Jaén) and on the first day the results of the UCAM athletes have been spectacular, achieving eight gold medals (María Pérez en marcha, Ricardo Serrano in 10,000, Borja Vivas and Úrsula Ruiz in weight, Javier Cienfuegos in hammer, Miguel Angel Sancho in height, Cristina Lara in 200 and Emilio Bellido in triple jump), six silvers (Raquel González in march, Andreu Blanes in 10,000, Jesus Crossa in javelin, Vicente Docavo in triple jump, Carla Franch in pole vault and Miguel Ángel López in March) and two bronze (Javier García in weight and Manuel Bermúdez in march).
Tomorrow there will be more athletics competitions and more opportunities for UCAM athletes to get medals.

The judo competition, which has been held in Mieres (Asturias) has left two medals for the UCAM at the hands of the only two judokas that the Catholic University presented to this competition.
The metals have been for Francisco Garrigos (gold) and Alberto Gaitero (bronze).
