The Councilor for Modernization of Administration and Urban Development, José Guillén has responded this afternoon in a forceful way to the municipal group Now Murcia ensuring that "with today's statements, it has been shown that they do not want more culture in the municipality."
Guillén explained that "we have received many requests to keep the exhibition hall of La Glorieta that was released with the exhibition in tribute to Antonio Campillo."
"The success and great reception that the opening of this space had for a temporary exhibition in the town hall building and the large number of letters received from the culture sector, such as those of the Academy of Fine Arts, the Antonio Foundation Campillo or Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, have led the City Council to make the decision to maintain it permanently, "said the mayor.
"The initial idea was to dedicate this space to culture, as an exhibition area, and to the attention of the public.
The only thing that varied from the planned plans have been the proportions, since we govern by the hand of Murcia, so if they ask us to maintain and expand this new cultural space we do so ".
He also added that on the ground floor of the City of Murcia are gathered all the workers of the service of Information and Citizen Services, known as Ventanilla Único, "a service that will be seen as the attendance points increase in the municipality, diversifying the attention and improving the information of neighbors, "he concluded.
