Last Friday April 13 took place the IX Olympiad of Economy and Business of the Region of Murcia, aimed at students of second year of high school, and qualifying for the X National Olympiad of Economics to be held in Santiago de Compostela on 25, 26 and June 27.
The main objective of this test is to select the three students that will represent the Region in the National Olympiad, but it is also presented as an opportunity to encourage student study efforts and a way to bring them closer to university life.
In addition to the national pass, the first three classified and the teacher of the first classified, the Faculty of Economics and business will give them a tablet.
In addition, the institution will award the winner free of charge the first-year studies at the University of Murcia.
The professors of the students who pass to the final phase will also obtain an acknowledgment, since the teacher of the best qualified will accompany the students to Santiago de Compostela.
For its part, the Association of Secondary School Teachers (ADESMUR) recognizes the effort of the center whose students have obtained the best classification.
On this occasion, a total of 185 students from the region participated in more than 30 secondary schools, who have been accompanied by their teachers.
During the test, educators attended a conference on validation of business ideas, given by Juan Martínez López, founding partner of Plan Presto, in order to provide them with tools for teaching economics and business in your classrooms
The Closing Ceremony and the presentation of diplomas and gifts to the participants were attended by the Vice Chancellor for Research of the University of Murcia (Mr. Antonio Juan García Fernández), the General Director of Universities (Mr. Juan Monzó Cabrera), the Director of the Seneca Foundation (Mr. Antonio González Valverde), and the Dean of the School of Economists of the Region of Murcia (Mr. Ramón Madrid Nicolás).
This Olympiad is part of the program of Scientific Olympiads of the Region of Murcia funded by the Seneca Foundation, and has the collaboration of the Association of Economists of the Region of Murcia and the Association of Teachers of Secondary Economics (ADESMUR).
