Violante de Aragón, María de Molina and Doña Olalla and their daughters, protagonists tomorrow of the project 'Guided tours Plural Feminine' (13/04/2018)

The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation tomorrow organizes a new appointment of the project 'Guided tours Plural Feminine' that seeks to rescue the historical relevance of women who over the centuries have achieved relevance for their lives or performances in our city.

The queens Violante de Aragón and María de Molina were powerful and influential women in Castilian politics of the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries.

They were owners of Los Banos de la Reina, later convent of Santa Ana. In the medieval documentation on this space we find names of women owners, businesswomen and active members of the economy of the area as Ramoneta de Belloc or Doña Olalla and her two daughters .

When leaving the Church of Santa Ana, we will visit Plaza Santa Ana, the Santa Claray Museum and the Calle de la Aurora.

Making a brief and pleasant walk through the city of Murcia, lasting 1 hour, you can learn about the heritage from a new, more plural perspective, by making visible what has been the contribution and life trajectory of the women who lived in our city .

The appointment is part of the tours prepared for the second edition of the project that the Department of Social Rights organized in collaboration with the Museum of the city with the aim of expanding and making visible the contribution that women have made economic, social or political Throughout our historical past, using the cultural resources of the municipality.

The project, of informative nature, is not exclusively aimed at women, but its interest lies in showing the general public the feminine perspective from the point of view of the history and heritage of the neighborhoods of Murcia and its districts.
