of the Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Fuertes, Tomás Fuertes;
of the President of the Social Council, Antonio Campillo;
and of the Vice-Rector for Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment, Francisca Tomás.
During the Orihuela Rector's term, an important set of business chairs has been created, but as Francisca Tomás has said, "it is the first time that we have created two simultaneously with a single company".
In his speech, the Vice Chancellor for Transfer, Entrepreneurship and Employment explained that the chair of Food Safety and Sustainability has as a global objective innovation, training and dissemination in the field of veterinary and food sciences.
Among its activities will be the provision of scholarships in favor of students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the realization of university practices and the promotion of research contracts, among others.
He also pointed out that the chair of Business Excellence will facilitate the incorporation into the world of work of the best students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, the promotion of internships in Group companies and the participation in international development programs for the pursuit of business excellence. .
On the other hand, Tomás Fuertes has expressed his great satisfaction at the signing of these agreements because, although the relationship of collaboration of the Group with the UMU goes back many years ago, now it is much more intense and is being formalized to set an example to other entrepreneurs .
"As an entrepreneur has said, I see the real need for rapprochement between the company and the university" because "in addition to work, knowledge is necessary".
The Rector has stated that he is proud that his term culminates with this act, and has pointed out that Fuertes is much more than an entrepreneur because he honors his human perception, beyond the purely business.
