On April 16 and 17, the Catholic University of Murcia, through its Cristóbal Gabarrón International Chair of Arts, will hold the International Art, Architecture and Heritage Congress, which in its fourth edition has the motto 'Challenges for heritage in a globalized world.
Preserve the past to build the future. '
Among the participants are personalities from the international scene such as Joe Osae ADDO, African architect who integrates hybrid indigenous and colonial influences;
the Serbian Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailovic, general secretary of Europa Nostra;
Griet Dupont, founder of the DoBeDo Academy and the De 11 Lijnen Foundation;
o Lieve Fransen, adviser for strategic issues of several international organizations, after holding the position of director in the European Commission.
The congress that will open on Monday, the 16th at 4:30 p.m., at the Campus of Los Jerónimos, also wants to pay tribute to Europa Nostra, in the European Year of Heritage 2018 and facilitate the exchange of impressions with leading artists and architects in relation to the role of architecture, art and innovation for the creation of public spaces.
Also, this international event has as one of its objectives to expose the challenges of an increasingly globalized world such as climate change and economic constraints with contributions based on sustainable growth through culture and heritage.
