The City Council, through the Department of Modernization of the Administration and Urban Development, will carry out in the coming months an innovative initiative, which has already been developed in the Garden of Three Cups.
Thus, a network of 'playground' will be created in different gardens of the municipality, recreation areas focused especially on the children's audience, which bring together concepts of pedagogy, outdoor physical activity, socialization, living areas, traditional playgrounds and landscaping details , leisure and culture.
In this way it is sought that these areas are more attractive and accessible, generating intergenerational uses of stay and novel games.
Councilman José Guillén explained that "based on the experience of large European cities in which the development of leisure areas for children and adults are much more than traditional children's games, 'Murcia Playground' is conceived as the development of leisure centers for children and adults, of all ages and conditions, as 100% accessible and 100% integrated zones, to promote values ​​of coexistence, socialization and development of outdoor physical activities in vegetated and naturalized spaces "
For that reason, these 'playground' will be designed with integrated landscaping and landscaping details to give the area a naturalized look, with shadows and much more friendly;
with sports spaces that encourage healthy outdoor activities, socialization and the development of psychomotor skills in children;
with skill games, which allow the development of skills such as balance, perception or panels of traditional games;
totally accessible to children with all kinds of abilities;
and that the elements besides being able to be used as children's games suppose architectural and design milestones, which allows an improvement in the image and aesthetics of the squares and gardens.
These new spaces will be meeting places for adults and children, since its design will allow areas to stay where to carry out activities of all kinds, whether they are educational, festive, sports and above all, they will suppose a meeting place within the neighborhoods.
The locations chosen for the first 'playground' zones to which many others will follow are defined by population centers where there is a greater concentration of children and middle-age groups in adults, with nearby educational centers, and associations with children. with disabilities in the vicinity.
Thus, the proposed sites are the José Antonio Camacho Garden of Ronda Sur;
the garden Painter Pedro Flores of El Carmen;
Young Future;
the garden of La Fama;
the Juan Torres Fontes de El Infante garden;
the Circular Plaza;

These actions aim to promote the use of gardens and green areas as a meeting place for young people, children and adults.
In this way, it completes the program of actions to improve children's areas carried out in recent months such as Era Alta, Espinardo, La Ñora and Santa Cruz, among many others.
