The Emergency Health Management 061 of the Region of Murcia, under the Ministry of Health, participates in the special device scheduled in the city of Murcia for the Day of the Burial of the Sardine, a festival declared of International Tourist Interest.
In this special device for Saturday, the Red Cross, the group of Civil Protection volunteers and staff of the General Directorate of Citizen Security and Emergencies collaborate.
From the Health Emergencies Management will be mobilized two Emergency Medicalized Units (UME) and a Rapid Intervention Vehicle (VIR).
The human team of each HEU will be composed of medical personnel, nurses and technicians in Health Emergencies;
and that of the VIR will be composed of a nurse and a Health Emergencies technician of the SMS.
In addition, the Emergency Coordination Center will also increase the number of staff with a doctor, a nurse and an emergency technician.
The director of the Emergency Management of Sanitary 061 of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Celdrán, said that "the purpose of this operation is to adjust our means to the needs of the day to offer an effective health response."
In this sense, Celdrán stressed the importance of citizen collaboration to facilitate the performance of health professionals in a day of great influx of people in the streets of the capital, for which he thanked the Murcia "their cooperation and understanding in a day festive that we all want to happen without incident ".
The sanitary device is scheduled to begin at 10:00 am with the VIR (Rapid Intervention Vehicle) that will be traveling through the streets of the city and the reinforcements of the Emergency Coordination Center (CCU).
Mobile units will start at 6:00 p.m.
The entire operative will be supervised and systematized from the Coordinating Center and will be in force until the chief coordinator of the guard determines it.
The director of the Management pointed out that "these human and material resources come to reinforce the human and health resources of the SMS that the city of Murcia has in order to be able to give a quick and coordinated response during the Burial of the Sardine day".
In 2017, 60 assists were performed, of which 45 percent were for people between 18 and 35 years old.
Injuries were the most frequent incidents.
1-1-2 Reinforcement
The Ministry of Presidency and Development, through the Directorate General of Citizen Security and Emergencies, reinforces its security device, coordinated from the Emergency Center 1-1-2 Murcia, before the last big day of the Spring Festival , increasing the number of staff working at the center by 17.4 percent to guarantee the safety of the hundreds of thousands of people who meet on the occasion of the Burial of the Sardine on the streets of the city.
The 1-1-2 operating room will be composed of 27 people, including call-service personnel, the Unit Coordination Center of the Emergency Management and Sanitary Emergencies 061, the Fire and Rescue Extinction Consortium (CEIS). the Region of Murcia, Urgent Assistance Device for Victims of Gender Violence, command and control operators, chief of operations, forest coordinator and information officer.
During the Spring Festival of Murcia last year, the 1-1-2 answered 4,288 calls, which involved the management of 3,194 cases, 3.36 percent less than in 2016, mostly related to health care (the 78 , 14 percent of the total).
