The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, María Visitación Martínez, the president of the Sardinera Association, José Antonio Sánchez, and members of the Municipal Corporation, attended today the presentation of the Big Fish 2018, the businessman Alfonso López, and Doña Sardina 2018, the businesswoman and designer Alicia Hernández, in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall.
Mayor José Ballesta imposed the badges on Gran Pez and Doña Sardina and thanked them for their commitment to Murcia: "You represent the quintessence of Murcia, you are legatees of a very long tradition of generous people and proud of their land.
You honor the Burial of the Sardine as 'Murcian fruit-propagated dynamite' - as Miguel Hernández pointed out - since you have crossed our borders to take the name of our city to the top, with your ingenuity, effort and determination ".

Live the Burial of the Sardine and always live Murcia ", proclaimed the mayor in an act that had as a finishing touch the Sardinero Anthem, which was accompanied by attendees with the raised handkerchiefs, and the Anthem of Murcia.
