Murcians and visitors can discover the route of the 16 Spring Gardens through the free application Blabup, developed in collaboration with the University of Murcia, which offers an audio guide at street level, available through mobile phone, 'putting the new technologies at the service of people, "explained José Guillén, councilor for Modernization of Urban Administration and Development.
These festivities the City Council has adorned the 16 Spring Gardens with 250,000 cut flowers and 220,000 flowering plants, which this year can be discovered through this application, developed in the scope of the Murcia SmartCity project, taking another step in the smart city project 'MiMurcia'.
To access the information, once the application has been downloaded on iOS or Android, and the user has registered, you can access the "Routes" section of the "Ayto Murcia" and, within it, "Jardines en Primavera 2018".
Once there, it is only necessary to reproduce the audio of the selected location to listen to the description of each one of the 17 gardens and the work that has been carried out in its ornamentation.
In this way, the 'Spring Gardens', as well as constituting an extraordinary graphic image, are also sound, since thanks to the Blabup application those who visit them will be able to listen to a description of each composition on their mobile phone, totally free of charge.
In addition to this novelty incorporated on the occasion of the Spring Festival, the routes of the City Council included in Blabup have audioguides on the streets of Murcia, its monuments and most emblematic corners, the museums of the city, the Huerta, the river, parks and gardens and the processions of Holy Week.
"Internet of voices"
Blabup, developed in collaboration with the University and the technology association AlicanTEC, is an application that allows the creation of audio guides in a very easy way and geolocalize the information with great precision.
Established in the city of Murcia at the beginning of 2017 and awarded with the Prize for Tourism Innovation 2017 by the University Institute of Tourism Research of the University of Alicante, it is an application that explores the potential of geolocation of information in audio format, under an ambitious concept called "internet of voices" and a concept of smart cities, where cities communicate with their inhabitants.
Allow a simple and free access to information on the main tourist attractions of a city.
In the case of the City of Murcia, it already has more than 400 audios.
In addition to this first phase in which public institutions provide information for cities to "talk" with their citizens and tourists, Blabup also includes social functionality so that the users themselves generate their audios and share them. with your friends.
