The walk through the traditions of Murcia, bowling, barracks, music and gastronomy will take place next Wednesday, with the departure at 11 am from La Glorieta and ending with a meal at El Malecón.
The Department of Urbanism, Environment, Water and Garden also invites Murcia to participate in the initiative '30 days by bike ', which aims to promote the daily use of the bicycle as an urban vehicle and highlight it as a healthy habit.
Next Wednesday, the day after Bando de la Huerta, the City Council will hold a bicycle route in advance of the "World Bicycle Day", which is commemorated on April 19.
The itinerary will start at 11 am from the Glorieta and complete a 10-kilometer tour until ending with a visit and invitation in a barrack.
The route, of low difficulty, will have a planned duration of about three hours and will be a bike ride through Murcian traditions: bowling, barracks, music, gastronomy, etc.
The councilor for Urban Planning, Environment, Water and Kitchen Garden, Antonio Navarro, has indicated that the initiative has the collaboration of the Federation of Peñas Huertanas whose president, Juan Pablo Hernández, has also attended the presentation.
According to Navarro explained, 'we will make a tour of the various huertanas barracks installed by the most characteristic gardens and parks of the city, where we will find typical games of the garden, museums and huertana decoration'.
The tour will be enlivened with traditional Huertana music and conclude with a tasting of local products in the barrack of the Peña Los Huertanos del Jardin del Malecón.
With this initiative, 'we want to promote the use of this means of transport, draw attention to the rights of cyclists and highlight their health benefits and sustainable mobility', added Navarro.
The itinerary will have four stops:
- Stop at the Plaza de la Cruz Roja to see in the Peña de La Seda "The Cure of Silk Worm", a tribute to the most deeply rooted traditions of the garden.
- Stop at the Plaza Circular, to contemplate a Ferris wheel 12 meters high and a huertano environment;
later, in the barrack of the Peña "El Pimentón" we will see a demonstration of how the paprika was made in the past.
- Stop at the Salitre Garden to see the Huertano Monument.
- Final stop on the Malecón to see:
- Monument to the Huertana Spring (recreation of 2 orchards over 10 meters high).
- Peña Los Huertanos: Huertana house with its huertano corner.
- Lunch in the barrack of the Peña Los Huertanos.
The itinerary will begin at the Glorieta de España, continuing through the Plaza de la Cruz Roja, Calle Apostles, Plaza Cardenal Belluga, Plaza Cetina, Calle Saavedra Fajardo, Avda. Rector José Loustau, Constitution Garden, Avda. De la Fama, Avda Juan de Borbón, Jardin de las Tres Copas, Avda. Marina Española, Avda. Príncipe de Asturias, Avda. De los Pinos, Fofó Park, Avda. General Primo de Rivera, Plaza Circular, Calle Escultor Roque López, Avda. La Libertad, Condestable Street, Salitre Garden, Acisclo Díaz Street, Silk Garden, Huerto Pomares Street, Calle Muralla and Huerto del Malecón.

The route ends with a meal in a barrack that is subsidized by the Peñas Huertanas Federation and will cost € 3.

People who adhere to the initiative commit to use the bicycle throughout April to carry out their daily habits, whether it is going around the block, traveling 5 kilometers to work, shopping, playing sports, cinema, to have coffee, to study, or simply to take a bike ride.
Then, they must share their online experience through the Facebook & Twitter of the Municipal Bicycle Office of Murcia.
