The Municipal Socialist Group has made, with its intervention in the Plenary of the City of Murcia, that the residents of Los Almendros, in the hamlet of La Alberca, solve the problems they had in their own homes, with deficiencies in the facades and in the cornices and even with leaks in the interior, issues that have been corrected with the investment of 39,000 euros assumed by the company that had previously been in charge of the rehabilitation of the 151 houses and the 6 commercial premises in the area.
In 2011, and being the current mayor, José Ballesta, Minister of Public Works of the Region, 2.2 million euros were invested in the rehabilitation works and a quarter of this amount was paid by the affected neighbors and the rest financed by the City Council and the Autonomous Community.
However, five years after completion of the works in these floors built in the 70s and in which about 1,000 people live, there were clear defects that should be corrected.
For this reason, the PSOE presented a motion to the Plenary in November 2015 to carry out pending works in the neighborhood and "finally, two and a half years later, we see that we have been ignored and have begun to repair some defects that affect to 151 homes, especially on issues related to humidity and façade problems ", explained the socialist councilor Enrique Ayuso.
The fact that the gutters of the drains installed in the upper part of the buildings were slightly open, which caused dirt to enter them and could not be cleaned, caused them to stagnate with rainwater and cause leaks in a score. of real estate.
In addition, the facades presented problems in the covered area and closed with aluminum structure, in which the air conditioners are placed.
The motors were installed with much difficulty, having to dismantle the protective slats that cover the holes intended for these machines.
On the other hand, there was wiring that was installed without covering and cornices that fell off and also the lack of awnings was detected.
All this originated the critics of the neighbors and the PSOE took the matter to the Plenary, that urged to the responsible company to that it solved the problems arisen once finished the rehabilitation of the buildings.
"It shows that our political intervention has been useful and of course that from the Municipal Socialist Group we will continue vigilant so that in Los Almendros and in all the neighborhoods of the municipality the works undertaken by the City Council are done in a convenient manner," he added Ayuso, who today has visited the streets where the houses are located, accompanied by neighbors and members of the municipal board of La Alberca and by a person in charge of the company CHM Infraestructuras, the builder of a project promoted by Urbamusa.
