The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, together with the Councilor for Youth, Infrastructure, Services and Public Works, Rebeca Pérez, Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesús Pacheco, and representatives of the Murcian Brotherhoods proceeded this afternoon of the special lighting that will decorate, for the first time, the entire urban stretch of the river during Holy Week, with the colors of each Brotherhood.
"The heart of the city dresses like this with the colors of Holy Week in Murcia, which, with more than 600 years of history and declared of International Tourist Interest, today is more alive than ever and incorporates innovations without losing its roots and Baroque essence" , highlighted José Ballesta.
The lighting of the river, from the Manterola walkway to the Fica, will also be joined by the lighting of the Moneo and the Manterola walkway itself, so that the city will shine with the colors of the procession of each day.
After lighting today, the lighting set for each day is as follows:
Friday of Dolores: blue.
Saturday of Passion: Corinth.
Palm Sunday: green.
Holy Monday: magenta.
Holy Tuesday: white.
Holy Wednesday: red.
Holy Thursday: purple.
Good Friday: navy blue.
Holy Saturday: white.
Sunset strolling along the river
The new lighting of the river that opens is made up of 155 LED projectors of low power and reduced consumption, which lightly illuminate the walls of the river bed, so that this spring you can go for a walk or ride a bike at dusk, with visibility and safely by the margins of the Segura, without affecting the fauna or flora of the river banks.
In addition, 141 programmable color projectors have been installed in the simulated columns of the wall, which allow the games of colors like the one that has been released this Holy Week.
