Jesús Pacheco regrets that this distinction has not been approved, that "it had received a multitude of adhesions from citizens and collectives, who will now be disappointed"
The Brotherhood of Slaves of Our Father Jesus of the Rescue and Mary Most Holy of Hope will not be able to receive the Gold Medal of the City because it has not had the necessary support.
The absence of the Speaker of Citizens, who at that time had left the Plenary to attend the media, and the abstention of Now Murcia and Cambiemos, caused the file did not meet the 23 votes needed to move forward, having the 12 of the PP, 6 of the PSOE and the councilor not assigned Javier Trigueros, in addition to the 3 remaining councilmen of Citizens.
The Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, lamented that the distinction has not gone ahead to a brotherhood that was founded in 1941, although its origin dates back to the seventeenth century.
The brotherhood this year celebrates 75 procession in the Holy Week in Murcia and his dossier of award of the Gold Medal 'had received many adhesions by citizens and groups, who now will be disappointed', underlines Pacheco.
'Our intention was to recognize their religious, historical and cultural link with the city, whose streets walk every Tuesday Holy with devotion, faith and tradition, actively contributing to the splendor of our Holy Week in Murcia, declared of International Tourist Interest'.
