The City of Murcia, after the approval of the Government Board meeting today Friday, has given the go-ahead for the execution of four judgments of different social courts by which the City of Murcia is obliged to pay wages due to their workers by the company Help Domicile SAL, currently in a situation of bankruptcy-, which was awarded the Home Help Service in the municipality of Murcia until May 31, 2017. The payment obligation of the City Council is due to its status of jointly and severally liable attributed by the Workers' Statute.
In this way, the City will face the payment charged to the invoices of the contract, whose payment was retained by agreement of the Board of Government itself in order to guarantee the wages owed by the winning company and thus avoid the damage to the interest public would suppose its payment in duplicate by this Administration.
The resolution, which amounts to 43,506 euros, affects 15 workers and, in this way, all the wages owed by the winning company are settled.
It is the second consecutive week that an agreement of these characteristics is adopted, since the Governing Board of the last week already agreed to make effective the payment to 46 workers for the amount of 44,000 euros, in concept of the extra pay of summer, based on the joint responsibility attributed.
With this new step, the Councilor for Social Rights and Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz, explained that the City meets the judgments regarding the payment of salaries that the company helps Domicile SAL - currently in competition of creditors-, owed to its workers, who provided the service of Home Help of this City Council.
