The Poncemar Chair of Gerontology of the University of Murcia holds on March 21 the "II Sociosanitaria Day of Elderly People".
This will last all day and will be held in the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Sociosanitarias Sciences of Lorca.
This day, which will begin at 9:00 h and will extend its conferences until 7:30 p.m.
A total of seven papers divided into three areas: Psychology with "Preventive measures and rehabilitation of memory and other cognitive functions" and "Psychological approach of the geriatric patient submitted to emergency situations"; Physical activity with the talks "Importance of physiotherapy in the Parkinson's disease "and" Physical activity programs for the elderly ";
and the third area of ​​Nutrition and health, formed by "Nutrition in the elderly", "Interaction between food and drugs" and "Oral health and its care in aging".
All these papers will be taught by recognized professors of University and Vocational Training, as well as by qualified professionals of the different disciplines.
The program has been based on the proposals made by the faculty of the Integrated Vocational Training Center of Lorca and the Advisory Board of the Chair. This free and public day is aimed essentially at students of Vocational Training in the health branch, students of the Campus Universitario de Lorca, as well as professionals and anyone interested in the care and protection of the elderly.
