More than 18,000 people have visited the exhibition 'Coleccionismo de una época', dedicated to the artist Antonio Campillo, who has been shown in the building of the Town Hall of La Glorieta for more than three months.
Given its success, the planned end date had to be extended by one month.
In the exhibition, organized thanks to the collaboration of the Antoni Campillo Foundation, it was possible to make a unique journey through the career of the Murcian sculptor, complete with pictorial and sculptural works from two of the most important art schools in the world of art: Paris and Madrid;
many of which have been exhibited for the first time in Murcia.
Thus, we have seen 52 works (27 sculptures and 25 paintings) of 33 artists: Antonio Campillo and other prestigious artists (19 from Paris and 13 from Madrid), whose work is exhibited in the most important museums in the world such as the Metropolitan New York, the Pompidou Center in Paris, the Montmartre Museum, the Museum of Modern Art in Paris, the Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Petit Palais in Geneva or the Art Institute of Chicago, among others.
The success and the great reception that this exhibition has had and the large number of letters received from the culture sector, such as the Academy of Fine Arts, the Antonio Campillo Foundation and the Caja Mediterráneo Foundation, have led the City Council to make the decision to maintain this cultural space permanently.
