The Department of Social Rights and Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia, in its commitment to fight against inequalities between men and women, will invest about € 35,000 for the prevention of gender violence in Secondary Education Centers.
In this way it is intended to give continuity to the work that is developed from the council in the educational environment itself, including faculty and families, to eradicate gender violence in the adolescent and youth population.
The actions contemplated in this project are part of the measures envisaged in the Second Plan for Equal Opportunities between Women and Men of the Municipality of Murcia 2017-2019 in the strategic area of struggle against gender violence.
The actions that make up this project have the dissemination in the media in addition to the workshop on the prevention of sexist violence "El amor nos siento bien".
It is intended for students of 19 Institutes of Secondary Education of the municipality of Murcia, who throughout the course will receive training in this regard.
The training that adolescents receive is given by professionals from the fields of education and social sciences, specialists in gender equality and prevention of sexist violence.
Each workshop consists of 10 sessions that are developed through classroom dynamics and the projection of films and videos as well as practical theoretical expositions, combined with group dynamics techniques that promote participation.
The methodology used aims to encourage reflection, knowledge and critical thinking, alternating explanatory or theoretical parts with dynamics that facilitate the participation of students, as well as individual work as a group, either from the whole class or dividing the participants in small groups.
