The project, co-financed by European funds within the DUSI Strategy, has a budget of 3'3 million euros.
The intervention, which will be developed in 12 months, includes the restoration of the facades and balustrades, in addition to the wiring and the elimination of sanitation downspouts
Yesterday was published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia the announcement of the tender for the rehabilitation project of pavilions 1 and 2 of the Artillery Barracks, so that companies interested in these works have 26 calendar days - up to 4 April- to present their offers.
The tender budget amounts to 3,368,640 euros, co-financed by 80% by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF) within the framework of the Operational Program for Sustainable Growth 2014-2020, with the Strategy DUSI.
Councilor for Economic Promotion, Culture and European Programs, Jesus Pacheco, explained the 'high scope of this action', which is part of the strategic plans that define the new model of city that is driving the City.
These works, which have a period of one year for their execution, will fully recover for the city 'an extensive space dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of cultural events, providing an adequate infrastructure and powerful cultural equipment that promotes artistic creativity '
"This is undoubtedly one of the great goals of this Government Team, which works to make available to all citizens the tools and facilities they need to develop their artistic projects, with the aim of promoting the creation and diffusion of creative and contemporary culture, "added Pacheco.
At present, the Artillery Barracks enclosure houses the Rio Segura Municipal Library, the UMU Museum and Classroom, the Professional Conservatory or the Cendeac and Párraga centers.
It is, therefore, 'a great space with great possibilities', added the councilor, who advanced that' the recovery of the two pending pavilions will allow to expand the programming and the celebration of cultural activities within the reach of all, "said Jesús Pacheco .
Restoration of facades
The remodeling works will begin with the pavilion 1, the largest of the set of the six that make up this space, with an area of 2,968 m 2 distributed between the ground floor and two more heights.
Here it is planned to empty the building by removing partitions and compartments, restoring the facades (preserving their original materials, ornamentation, carpentry and holes), repairing the balustrades of the balconies and the roofs, as well as removing the sanitation downspouts and visible wiring.
For its part, and in Hall 2, whose ground floor has been reopened with the programming of a calendar of cultural activities, the planned works exceed one and a half million euros, intended to intervene in the 2,256 m 2 of the ground floor , first and second.
In this space the facades are going to be restored, although here we will pay special attention to the moldings and azulejos tiles of Moorish inspiration.
It is planned to reinforce the structure, increasing its load capacity, increasing the thickness of the pillars and having archaeological supervision, both in the dismantling phase and in the demolitions.
