The City of Murcia announced this morning the XXVI Municipal Art Creation Competition, CreaMurcia 2018, with the aim of continuing to promote and promote the creativity of Murcia emerging artists and under the slogan "Talent is not at first sight" .
This was announced at a press conference by the Councilor responsible for Youth, Rebecca Perez, and Jesus Pacheco, Councilor for Culture.
To this end, "we are going to develop a series of actions among which we can highlight: economic prizes and promotional incentives of the most outstanding artists, the edition in the different supports of the awarded works, as well as exhibitions, concerts, gastronomic samples, projections audiovisual or scenic performances, "said Rebeca Pérez.
After twenty six years of existence, this contest is a priority framework for the cultural expression of emerging artists, both in terms of production and in the exchange of ideas, being by extension a privileged showcase of new creations in the strategy of the trends of the art, contributing to reinforce the idea of ​​achieving a greater capacity for communication and artistic expression through art and forms of creativity.
"In order to address the multidisciplinary diversity and experimentation of current artistic practice, the call for CreaMurcia 2018 includes the following disciplines: Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Visual Arts, Comics, Short and Documentary, Graphic Design, Fashion Design (in categories of clothing and accessories), Photography, Gastronomy, Literature and Music (in the categories of Pop-Rock, Other Trends and Author's Song) ", explained Jesús Pacheco.
In this edition of the Contest the calls of Fashion Design and the modality of Microrrelatos within Literature are maintained, adding a new artistic discipline to the call, Graphic Design, being in the actuality the contest for young artists that more disciplines summons to national level .
"We maintain our commitment with the young emerging bands and for that reason we continue offering the incentives like the aids to the rehearsal premises and the inclusion of the most outstanding artists of previous editions, in the main events organized by the City Council of Murcia and other administrations, both at the local, regional or national level, "Rebeca Pérez stressed.
It is a commitment of all the services of the City of Murcia to include them in the municipal programming of events such as the WAM Festival, Lemon Pop, Music in the Plazas, the Christmas Market, ADN Santa Eulalia, Fantastic Film Festival, Activities of Spring and Christmas parties, among others.
On the other hand, the registrations can be carried out in person and online, which makes it possible, especially for those who reside outside Murcia, to be able to attend the event without having to register at the Municipal Youth Service offices.
In addition, and as part of the Competition, the City of Murcia, in order to promote the most prominent artists of this call, promote their participation in meetings, exchanges, events and artistic and cultural events both nationally and internationally.
The artistic mobility projects in the national territory stand out through the Tejiendo Redes program, which includes the municipalities of Murcia, Madrid, Malaga, Valencia, Logroño, Soria, Vitoria, Pamplona and Zaragoza, among others.
