The Faculty of Economics and Business has hosted the conference entitled 'The university student as an agent of change within the framework of the 2030 Agenda' by the Ambassador of Spain and Director of the Institute for Cooperation and Human Development of the Camilo José Cela University , Carmelo Angulo Barturen.
Ambassador Carmelo Angulo highlighted how university students can, through small actions, be vehicles for social change in their own community and thus contribute to broader changes.
He also highlighted the important role that the University can play in the formation of values ​​or in the development of critical analysis of future professionals.
In this sense, the convenience of having a space of exchange and reflection on the role of professors and students in this new framework of action was proposed in the Faculty, a space that Carmelo Angulo himself called Classroom 2030.
The conference was the first activity of a project funded by the City of Murcia in the call for awareness for development entitled: "You have the key": awareness program on the 2030 agenda and ODS aimed at citizens of Murcia.
The project is the result of collaboration between the Cepaim Foundation and the Development Cooperation Studies Center of the University of Murcia.
In the presentation of the conference participated on behalf of the Department of Youth and Development Cooperation of the City of Murcia, José Andrés Olmos Castelo.
Representing the Cepaim Foundation, Nabil Nesli, Coordinator of the International Cooperation Area.
And Federico Martínez-Carrasco Pleite and Eugenio J. Sánchez Alcázar, as Vice Dean of Academic Organization of the Faculty of Economics and Business and professor of the Department of Applied Economics, respectively.
