The image of Our Lady of Lourdes was received this morning by the entire university community of UCAM on its arrival at the Campus where it will remain until this Wednesday afternoon.

This is the image that remains during the year at the Hospitality of Lourdes in Murcia and that is pilgrimage on the occasion of the Hospital Jubilee Year celebrated in the Diocese.

José Luis Mendoza, president of the UCAM, emphasizes that "it is a gift from God that the Virgin of Lourdes visits us and I ask her to shed her grace on all the students, professors and staff of the Catholic University, to attend to their needs and heal the sick. "

For his part, the senior chaplain of the University, Luis Emilio Pascual, said that "for the entire university community can be a moment of grace as it is being in all places that has visited the image since December 11 began the Jubilee Year ".

On the occasion of this visit, numerous activities have been prepared, such as exhibitions, round tables or conferences.

The first of them began this morning with the opening of the exhibition "50 photographs for 50 years of Pilgrimages", located in the cloister of Los Jerónimos.

This afternoon there will be two round tables on Hospitality and the Diocesan Pilgrimage, which will involve the diocesan president of Hospitality, Joaquín Martínez, and some volunteers and patients.

The second round table will have the participation of the medical director of the pilgrimage, Jerónimo Tornel, and other members of the health team.

Tomorrow, Tuesday at 5:00 p.m., the current Consulate of the Hospitality of Our Lady of Lourdes and former rector of the Shrine, Father Horacio Brito, will give the lecture 'The message of Lourdes, a spirituality for our time.'

The activities will conclude on Wednesday with two fundamental acts: the celebration of the Eucharist in which the assistants, fulfilling the conditions required by the Church, will be able to obtain the plenary indulgence and, in the afternoon, with the procession of Antorchas for the environment of the Monastery accompanies by the recitation of the Holy Rosary, as it is done in the pilgrimages to the French city of Lourdes.
