The candidate for Rector José Antonio Gómez attended on Saturday February 24 at the debate table 'Bridges to the University' during the PSRM Education Conference on Saturday February 24, in this act, among other issues, alluded to his proposal to create the Mobile Culture Classroom of the University of Murcia.
Already last week, after his visit to the traveling exhibition of the Obra Social La Caixa "Picasso, The Journey of Guernica", the candidate spoke of his proposal to create the Mobile Culture Classroom of the University of Murcia to "take out the culture and the scientific divulgation to the streets and municipalities of the Region through our Permanent Headquarters ".
This project is part of a plan to revitalize culture and participation in university life, something that has been lost in recent years.
"The Bologna plan has modified the habits of university students, and leads them to occupy practically all of their time in the purely academic, we believe that the University should be much more than that," said the professor, who believes that this project will facilitate access to culture in a context that is not conducive to enjoyment.
Gómez abounds in his cultural proposal referring to "The Science Route", a science dissemination project aimed at children, which aims to promote the activities of the UMU Aquarium in collaboration with the Museum of Science and the Water (of the City council of Murcia).
In the project of José Antonio Gómez, its Vice-Chancellor for Culture and Social Action would be Marta Latorre, who pointed out during the Education Conference the importance of bringing artistic and cultural creation closer together, as well as the dissemination of science, to those corners of the neighborhoods, districts and municipalities where often comes with more difficulty because, he said, "we must strengthen our bond and our commitment to citizenship through culture."
