In its commitment to promote equal opportunities and the inclusion of children who are currently in a situation of social exclusion or risk, the Department of Social Rights will develop two educational reinforcement projects with minors throughout 2018.
This has been approved by the Governing Board, for which it will allocate a total of 31,500 euros divided into two different projects that can benefit up to 400 children at the Municipal Center for Social Services City of Murcia.
The first one, called Elevator, is aimed at minors who have educational and / or socio-economic deficiencies that may lead to situations of maladjustment or social risk.
It is expected that it can benefit a total of 250 adolescents and will have a total of 17,500 euros, all of which will be part of the Municipal Program for Attention to Children and Adolescents.
To this end, the minors who require basic material and equipment for their normalized access to the educational environment will be provided, from each of the Center's areas of action, based on the principles of socialization, prevention, protection, standardization. , participation, equality, etc.
"This intervention aims to develop actions that respond to the needs of these children and promote their adaptation and integration to the environment in which they operate and to adopt measures and protective mechanisms to prevent those risks that cause social maladjustment in children ", Rebeca Pérez explained.
Secondly, the project Including aims to facilitate equal access to complementary activities of leisure and free time that are developed in the area and is intended for children who are in the project of Family Intervention or in a situation of social risk, thus guaranteeing equal opportunities for them.
"The realization of educational leisure activities is shown as a powerful work tool complementary to formal education. The good practices collected in this regard, demonstrate its preventive, integrative, healthy and sociocultural promotion of children in their environment", the councilor has highlighted.
In this case, 14,000 euros will be invested and the number of minor beneficiaries will be 150.
The project is aimed at children who are the object of family intervention and those who are in a situation of social vulnerability.
This is to facilitate the integration of children in the social environment through leisure activities developed in their community, promote comprehensive education, prevent social vulnerability, compensating inequalities and socio-economic and cultural imbalances to facilitate equal opportunities of them, or raise awareness among parents-tutors of the importance of their participation in complementary activities of leisure and free time with a playful-educational nature.
