The Convalescence Building of the University of Murcia will house the exhibition "Relevant women in the Region of Murcia. YESTERDAY AND TODAY"
The Councilor for Social Rights of the City of Murcia, Conchita Ruiz, presented this morning the calendar of activities organized within the days 'MU AND MU I Week of Women in Murcia 2018' with which it is intended to value the role that women currently play in Murcia society.
It is a forum co-organized by the newspaper La Verdad and the City of Murcia and that will have the experience and participation of numerous women representing different sectors and areas of society.
During the presentation, Alicia Barquero, General Director of Women and Equality of Opportunities, and Antonio González, General Director of the newspaper La Verdad, were present.
"One of the pillars on which the government team of José Ballesta builds the development and momentum of the municipality of Murcia is equality and for this we have to highlight the role played by women, as well as listen to social demands in matter of commitment and labor conciliation or in education in values ​​and equality that we must achieve put into practice in our children ", stressed Conchita Ruiz during his speech.
The I Week of Women in Murcia will have two days of conferences and talks of great social interest, supported by a photographic exhibition that gathers different Murcian women or related to Murcia for their relevant actions in all areas with significance.
In addition, on February 27 and March 2, guided visits to facilities of representative companies of the Region of Murcia are planned.
First level presentations
The bulk of these days is centered on February 28 and March 1, when the Miguel Ángel Clares Room of the Víctor Villegas Auditorium will host a series of lectures, colloquiums and round tables.
The first of the days includes three blocks under the title of "Women in the institution, equality and consumption", "We walk in favor of equality" and "Overcoming challenges and challenges".
The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, will play a leading role in the first one.
Next to it will be personalities such as Rosa Peñalver, President of the Regional Assembly, Inés Alberdi, Sociologist and former Executive Director of the United Nations Fund for Women, Asunción Martínez García (Director of Concessions in Spain of SUEZ) or Raquel Casero Egido ( Certified ASESCO Coach specialized in Health & Wellnes Coaching, Educational Coaching and High Performance Sports and Management).
For its part, March 1 "Women of today in science, business and public administration", "Women in the company of the XXI century" and "Adding achievements".
In this case, it is a set of interviews, papers and panel of experience moderated by the journalist of Informativos Telecinco, Ángeles Blanco.
Photography Exhibition
On Monday, February 26, and until March 12, the Convalescence Building of the University of Murcia, will host the opening of the exhibition "Relevant Women in the Region of Murcia, AYER Y HOY" by the Mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta
It is an exhibition given by the Region of Murcia, through the General Directorate of Cultural Assets, the Library of the Region of Murcia and the General Directorate for Women and Equal Opportunities.
The part that composes the "AYER" of this exhibition has been selected from the collection made for the celebration of the National Congress "Woman and Culture", in Murcia, in March 2002. Through this exhibition was recognized and honored women from Murcia or related to Murcia for their relevant actions in all areas with social, artistic, economic and political significance, among others.
For this, La Verdad has selected part of the works exhibited for the first time in 2002 with a small extension to honor also some of the women who have stood out for their work in recent years in society.
