The Councilor for Employment, Tourism and Culture, Jesús Pacheco, has presented the report-memory of the Municipal Employment Service created 28 years ago.
Pacheco explained that "since 2015 we have been betting on the creation of new programs, new lines of subsidies, collaboration agreements and other actions that seek to generate employment, train those who already have it and consolidate the companies that are based in Murcia. We adapt to the new times, since we have intensified the presence of the service in social networks and we have renewed the website, and we are working on the launch of a Virtual Training Center, which will allow it to be accessible to a much larger population ".

The Employment Service has different objectives:
- Improve the qualification of the unemployed people of the municipality, through their participation in different training activities.
- Offer a wide and structured training offer, by levels and in different professional areas.
- Promote a comprehensive and quality education, with special emphasis on the personal and professional development of the participants.
- Report on various opportunities for access to employment.
- Advise on various offers of vocational training and employment, developing individual insertion and reintegration itineraries.
- Offer training, advice and support for finding work for their own and others.
- Offer qualified workers companies
- Encourage the creation of new companies in emerging sectors.
- Facilitate a first non-work experience through the signing of a non-work professional internship agreement.
- Participate with associations, entities and companies of Murcia in all those actions that are aimed at promoting employment.
Employment guidance and employment exchange
The aim of the Guidance Department is to improve employability by assisting registered persons in the definition of their professional objective, designing their itinerary in an individualized manner and supervising the process of continuous improvement of their skills for employment.
Thus, during 2017 guidance and counseling has been provided to 2,296 people, of which 1,603 (900 women and 703 men) are under 30 years old and 693 (303 men and 390 women) are over 30 years old.
In addition, 425 people have registered in the Youth Guarantee File.
Likewise, the City Council provides a free and comprehensive service to companies and users, in any of the stages of incorporation of workers to companies;
adapting the requested profile and the interests of both parties, supporting the preselection of candidates and finally carrying out follow-ups of insertion.
In total 122 job offers have been managed for 97 different professional profiles, with a total of 323 contracts signed, and 1,860 people have been contacted and sent to job offers.
The response time between receiving the offer and sending the first quota is a maximum of 48 hours, sending an average of 5 candidates for each position offered.
Collaboration agreements with entities
In order to improve training and professional qualification, promote economic development and promote employment and entrepreneurship, the Department of Employment, Tourism and Culture signs agreements with social and economic agents of the municipality.
During the past year, 19 collaboration agreements with entities, 7 extensions and 12 new agreements have been signed.
Aid for the creation and promotion of employment
For the second consecutive year, the Employment Service launched in 2017 the public call for the granting of subsidies for the creation and promotion of employment in the municipality, in order to facilitate and support the hiring of unemployed people, promoting stability in the employment by hiring unemployed people or transforming temporary contracts into permanent ones.
Thus, 44 companies and 10 freelancers have been subsidized for the creation of 73 jobs and 8 cooperatives for the creation of 19 jobs.
Promoting entrepreneurship and consolidating companies
The Center for Municipal Initiatives of Murcia (CIM-M) is a space of 1,500 m2 for entrepreneurs and their business initiatives.
It facilitates the birth, establishment and consolidation of those recently created business projects or that are in the process of being implemented, in order to better and faster integration into the business fabric.
In the area of ​​employment promotion and business consolidation, 125 Workshops and 18 Workshops have been organized, with a total of 402 hours of training and a participation of 2,400 people.
The Center for Municipal Initiatives received 5,238 visitors while 1,086 people were advised by the Development Agents.
Thanks to this advice, 68 companies were created, of which 44 have been constituted by women and 24 by men, with which 73 people have been inserted into the labor market.
A total of 92 projects were submitted to the XXV Business Projects Contest, of which 48 are projects participated by women.
In total, 75,000 euros were distributed in 6 prizes and 8 accésits.
Likewise, 78 projects participated in the Municipal Fair of Business Projects, which was attended by more than 700 people.
In addition, 10 'Culture and Creativity' Scholarships have been created to support entrepreneurship in the cultural and creative industries.
Training projects
During 2017, 34 professional training courses of 42 different specialties were given for the employment of mainly unemployed people, with a total of 37,435 teaching hours.
Thus, training for employment has been provided to 726 people, 422 men and 304 women, of which 362 were under 30 and 364 were over 30.
Thanks to these courses, 116 contracts have been made for training and 41 employment contracts, of which 52 have been for women and 105 for men, while 145 labor insertions of unemployed people trained in these programs, 96 men and women, have been achieved. 49 women
Likewise, 84 people have been inserted educationally, 24 women and 60 men.
Likewise, 89 non-labor professional internship agreements have been signed with 70 companies in the municipality and the region.
