The UCAM, through the Telefónica Chair of Innovation and entrepreneurship in the digital era together with the Technological Institute of Murcia, organizes another year, the Hack For Good interuniversity meeting, where for three days, hackers will try to give innovative solutions to different social challenges.
In the last edition the students of the UCAM obtained the first national prize with an application that detects the Cyber ​​Bullying in social networks.
It is a meeting promoted by Telefónica, through its Network of Telefónica Chairs and by the UCAM, which participates along with other 18 universities throughout Spain.
During the days 8, 9 and 10 of March, at the Campus of Los Jerónimos, Hackers from all over Spain will solve social problems through innovative technological solutions in order to build a better world.
The "for good" hackers will work as a team to solve the challenges they face and will be selected based on the creativity and innovation of the proposed solution, the degree of completion achieved during the hackathon and the social impact of the proposed solution.
The days begin on March 8 with the presentation of the challenges and the formation of teams, who will have two days to finish the project and present it before a jury.
They will opt for three prizes: Hack for Good Big Day where those technological solutions that have stood out for their continuity and result will be selected.
Hack For Good Global, which will be awarded to the three best technological solutions of any of the participating venues and the Hack For Good Local award that is awarded to the winner of each local headquarters.
This year, the Catholic University has several prizes, including € 1,000 for the best challenge.
In the 2017 edition, three UCAM students won the first national prize through SAMEBullying, an application that works as a digital vaccine that detects, prevents and treats cyberbullying.
