On the occasion of the XXXI Week of Biology, which will take place from February 19 to 22, the Faculty of Biology will organize dozens of activities in which not only members of this institution will participate, but also collaborators such as the Lorca Marín company, the University Miguel Hernández, CEBAS-CSIC and COIE.
On days 19, 20 and 21 the Week will begin with an open day.
The assistants, students of Secondary Education centers of our Region, will be able to enjoy guided visits through the José Loustau Museum and through the Soil Museum.
You can also get to know the exhibitions organized for the occasion such as the bone collection of vertebrates, malacology, Biological Photography, drawings with the motto 'The welfare of animals', made by schoolchildren from the region.
The 0.6 classroom of the Faculty will host each day a lecture given from a different subject.
The cycle will begin on Monday February 19 at 1:00 pm with 'The challenge of the labor market: Professional lights and shadows of the graduates in Environmental Sciences', given by María Cristina Méndez Rey, of the health products company Lorca Marín SA
Continues on Tuesday 20 at the same time with the talk 'We are microbes (and still do not know)', Dr. Juan Carlos Espin De Gea, belonging to the Center for Edaphology and Applied Biology of Segura (CEBAS) CSIC.
On Wednesday 21st at 12: 00h, Joaquín Madrid Delgado, of the Center for Employment Guidance and Information of the University of Murcia (COIE), will announce the 'Professional departures and labor mobility', indicated mainly for the students of the degrees that in this Faculty are taught: Biology, Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences.
This cycle closes that same day with the participation of María José Frutos Fernández, professor at the Miguel Hernández University of Elche who will talk about food innovations through the talk 'How much food additives are necessary?', At 13 : 00 h.
Thursday 22 the week of activities closes in the Hall of Acts Hermenegildo Lumeras de Castro.
He will attend the Rector José Orihuela Calatayud, the Dean of the Faculty Alfonsa García Ayala and the Director of the XXXI edition Francisca Pérez Llamas.
This last day is completed with the conference 'El aire de Murcia' by Dr. Mariano Gacto Fernández, from the Department of Genetics and Microbiology.
In this same act will take place the deliveries of the prizes corresponding to the contests of Posters, Botanical Photography and School Drawing, to the winners of the XII Regional Olympiad of Biology and to the best academic record and to the best Final Work of University Master in Bioinformatics.
Likewise, the placement of the nominative plaque of the Soil Museum will take place.
This week there are numerous scientific activities such as the isolation and visualization of DNA or workshops of minerals and rocks, among others, that can be fully known in the program of activities
