The great party of the Segura River, the Harvest Festival, the Biodiversity Fair, the Market of Products, Show cooking, and concerts in unique places of the garden will form this III Week of the Huerta The districts will be the main protagonists with activities in various parts of the municipality with performances by the Office of Graffiti, environmental itineraries, concerts in the Ñora and in the Palmeral or the Estampa Huertana in Torreagüera The novelty of 'Open for works' offers a visit to historical places in our garden that the City Council of Murcia is rehabilitating as the Molino del Amor, Batan or Contraparada
This morning the councilor for Urban Planning, Environment and Garden, Antonio Navarro, has presented in the Palm Grove of Santiago and Zaraiche the III edition of the Week of the Huerta to be held from 3 to 11 March.
Walks through the mills, environmental itineraries, workshops, volunteering, expert forums, concerts, bowling competitions, huertana cooking shows, gastronomic routes ... more than 50 activities will make up this year's program in which the date has been extended, adding one more weekend and culminating with a great party on the Segura River.
This festival that closes the Huerta Week will be on Sunday, March 11 and will have itineraries, bike rides, photography workshops in nature, a family gym, a visit to the Molinos del Río, workshops and a popular meal.
There will be a harvest festival in the leisure garden of Aljucer, on Saturday 3, with workshops for obtaining and preserving seeds, a toy workshop with canes, a recipe contest and basket of vegetables from the gardens.
That same Saturday the activity 'Estampa Huertana' will be celebrated with Huertana traditions, folklore, crafts and craftsmanship in Torreagüera with a great family meal.
In the Plaza de Santo Domingo will be installed as other years an information point that will be throughout this week.
In addition, there will be a gastronomic route of the garden, children's workshops, a marathon of photography and a forum for dissemination and awareness on the garden of Murcia in which will be reflected throughout the week, from Monday to Friday at 19.00, on agrobiodiversity and agroecology in the Assembly Hall of the City of Murcia.
In addition, the gastronomy will be present with the Market of Products that will be installed in the Plano de San Francisco the weekend of March 10 and 11 and the activity 'cooking orchard' the same Saturday 10, where a show cooking, an exhibition will take place of cooking with Julio Velandrino and with cooks from the garden presented by María Dolores Baró.
The Biodiversity Fair will be located on the Paseo del Malecón with exhibition and sponsorship of local varieties with seed exchange and plant donation, urban gardening workshops, participatory cartography and gastronomy and biodiversity with salad workshops, dressings and vegetable patés.
Also, on Saturday 10th the election of the Queen of the Huerta in the Plaza del Cardenal Belluga is celebrated with the organization of a great gala by the Federation of Peñas Huertanas.
