The Councilor for Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, presented this morning the new edition of the program "Plural Feminine Routes", whose thread will be "the biography of some women who lived in the city of Murcia and, although they had a great influence and economic and social power have been relegated to oblivion. "

During 2018 there are 7 planned tours, with which to know and claim the historical evolution of Murcia, the urban transformation and the active role that women have also had in the commercial, labor, political and cultural activity of the city of Murcia, knowing their claims, struggles, advances and setbacks.
The great novelty is that this year is that the routes are made based on the biographies of women of the stature of Maria Maroto, Al-Fadilah, Violante de Aragón, María De Molina, Doña Olalla and their daughters;
Doña Juana Manuel, Luisa Fajardo, Ginesa de Heredía, Josefa López Del Olmo, María Codorniu Boch and Pilar de la Cierva.
A program that is part of the tours prepared for this new edition of the project that the Department of Social Rights organized in collaboration with the Museum of the City with the aim of expanding and making visible the contribution that women have made at an economic, social or political throughout our historical past, using for it the cultural resources of the municipality.
"The project, of an informative nature, is not exclusively aimed at women, but rather its interest lies in showing the general public the feminine perspective from the point of view of the history and heritage of the districts of Murcia and its districts", Conchita Ruiz has highlighted in her speech.

First tour: February 17 and 24
The first of the appointments will take place next February 17 and 24.
On this occasion the life of the teacher María Maroto (1878-1966) who for fifty years was dedicated to teaching, leaving an important legacy in our municipality.
"The work of teachers like María Maroto allowed many girls in the municipality to have access to basic education, with the same educational curriculum as children, in spaces of the city that are architectural examples of great value, both artistic and cultural," she said. highlighted the councilor during the presentation.
Departing from the Museum of the City, at 11:30 am, we intend to visit the Old College of Las Luisas, Plaza Fontes and the Graduate Schools, making a short and pleasant walk through the city of Murcia, 1 hour and a half of duration, in groups of 30 people.
