Between September and November 2017, the UMU Immunology research group launched a crowdfunding campaign through the Internet platform Precipita to obtain funding for the development of research on the role of the immune system in Endometriosis.
The main goal of this project is to achieve a greater knowledge of this disease that allows to improve the diagnosis and treatment of Endometriosis.
The minimum objective to begin this investigation was marked at € 2,000 and has been exceeded, as it has managed to raise just over € 10,000.
With more than 100 direct and indirect donors (thanks to the transport company ALSA, which supported the project for a little over a month by collecting donations from its clients when hiring their transport services), the project is ready to materialize and start.
Although the donations have been altruistic, and in some cases anonymous, the group has decided to organize visits to the most interested donors, so that they can personally meet the members of the research team and the facilities, both of the UMU, and of the hospitals. where this study will be carried out.
