The Plaza del Romea today hosted the presentation of the IX International Festival of solidarity magic 'Great Illusions' 2018, this year, aims to raise funds for the completion of the 'My Life' project of Fundown, which will improve the autonomy of people with disabilities intellectual in process of deterioration or aging of the city of Murcia.
The mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, accompanied by the executive director of the Gmp Foundation -which organizes the festival-, José Francisco Fernández;

and Councilmen Jesús Pacheco and Conchita Ruiz;
They presented this event that will fill Murcia with magic and illusion the next days 1, 2 and 3 of March, with shows by great magicians and illusionists of national and international prestige.

Fundown, the beneficiary of this 2018
The 'My Life' project promoted by Fundown is aimed at 20 people with intellectual disabilities between 35 and 60 years old.
It is a support program in family homes, for the improvement of organization and autonomy.
To do this, an individualized and person-centered planning is done.
The team of professionals of Fundown detects the needs of support and intervenes in the family environment, improving social relations, autonomy and carrying out a personalized follow-up.
Fundown, which was established in 1994, is one of the most prestigious regional and national non-profit entities in attention and promotion of the personal autonomy of people with intellectual disability and / or Down syndrome.
300,000 euros to improve the lives of more than 500 families
In these eight years of life 'Great Illusions' has managed to raise more than 300,000 euros that have helped more than 500 families with a member with intellectual disabilities in the Region of Murcia, contributing to materialize projects promoted by the entities of Murcia New Horizon, ASSIDO , Feaps, Astrapace, Fundown, CEOM, Abamur and Asteamur.
This initiative has been consolidated as the International Festival of Solidarity Magic of Murcia thanks to the effort of Gmp, the non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life of people with Down Syndrome, Acquired Brain Damage and other types of disability. intellectual.
