36 different conferences, 7 round tables, 6 theatrical performances, 6 storytelling performances, 6 concerts, 3 documentaries and 10 workshops in 14 participating municipalities: Alhama de Murcia, Archena, Calasparra, Cartagena, Caravaca de la Cruz, Cieza, Jumilla, Lorquí , Molina de Segura, Moratalla, Mula, Murcia, Santomera and Yecla.
These are the figures and activities of the IV An Education for the 21st Century Conference, which will begin tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23 and will run until March 15.
The initiative is organized by the Organizing Committee, the University of Murcia, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena, the Museum of Science and Water, and the Museum of the UMU, and has been presented today at the Rector of the University of Murcia , in an act that has been directed by the Vice-Chancellor of Communication and Culture of the UMU Mónica Galdana Pérez Morales.
In the words of Francisco Bastida Martínez, member of the Organizing Committee of the Conference and representative of STERM-Intersindical, the conference aims to "encourage reflection on the current school and the one towards which we walk".

The last member of the organizing committee of the Conference to intervene was Alfonso Vera Martínez, from UGT, who remarked that a large part of the weight of the participants and speakers comes from retired teachers.
María Esperanza Moreno Reventós, General Director of Attention to Diversity and Educational Quality of the Region of Murcia, emphasized in her speech the importance of the work of our teachers "that make education more quality every day and that it transmit values ​​as important as gender equality ", a ground, he said, in which we must all be proactive and work together to make the scourge of gender violence disappear, he said.
For his part, Sergio Amat Plata, Vice Chancellor of Students, commented that "Education is fundamental in any society that wants to progress", and highlighted that such an extensive and high quality program can only be possible thanks to the remarkable effort of the organizers, something that was also commented by the Vice-Rector Mónica Galdana Pérez Morales, who closed the event congratulating the organizers for their work.
The activities will begin on Tuesday, January 23 at the Paraninfo de la Merced, where at 7:00 pm the inaugural conference will take place: "The brain, my self and my memories of the future, and happiness?", By Salvador Martínez Pérez, researcher, director of the Neurosciences Institute of Alicante-CSIC of the Miguel Hernández University in Elche, which will be presented by the Rector José Orihuela.
