The Park and Gardens Service, under the Department of Modernization of the Administration, Urban Quality and Participation, directed by José Guillén, in collaboration with the Department of Sports and Health, has begun, with the arrival of the month of January, pruning annual of the numerous specimens that make up the different sports facilities of the municipality of Murcia.
"It is sought that in almost 30 sports spaces this pruning is carried out in what is known as the 'winter stop', in order to promote further growth," says the councilor.
These jobs are carried out by professionals from the concessionary company of parks and gardens, STV Gestión, complying with the current safety regulations such as the coupling by means of a rope system to the copy to avoid a possible fall.
Moreras, tipuanas and elms are some of the specimens that are usually pruned in these dates although it is acted throughout the year when necessary by the special characteristics of a particular specimen.
Among the districts with the greatest number of trees that will be pruned on these dates are Algezares, Puebla de Soto, Rincón de Seca or La Alberca.
The waste from the corresponding prunings is crushed and reused in the different gardens of the municipality to complete the natural cycle.
