The Community Development Institute has developed, in collaboration with the City of Murcia, an awareness campaign on development cooperation called "Solidarity Study" that will be taught in the educational centers of the Municipality of Murcia
"We are talking about a project that aims to educate young people in the values ​​of solidarity, generosity and social responsibility, thus favoring the achievement of the universality of the right to education", explained the Councilor for Youth and Cooperation to Development, Rebeca Pérez.
The direct beneficiaries of the Solidarity Study for Development Cooperation are young people, boys and girls, between 10 and 17 years of age from the various educational centers in Murcia and young people from educational projects in the Congo, who are supported by this program and that they will also participate in it.
The sessions are carried out through dynamic workshops, explanatory videos and participatory activities, in such a way that the boys and girls are sensitized in an interactive manner.
All this to achieve the specific objective of sensitizing the educational, family and economic sectors of the Municipality of Murcia and trying to get them involved in international cooperation, as well as young students and volunteers with the socio-economic and political realities of the most vulnerable populations. disadvantaged, living actively the values ​​of solidarity, generosity and social responsibility, through their specific involvement in international cooperation projects and involvement in social life.
To this is added the intention to co-finance educational projects in the Congo as the best tool to contribute to the integral development of men and the equality between North and South, thanks to the sponsors who support this initiative by delivering € per hour of solidary study.
Work method
The mechanics of the study consists of the students dedicating hours of study to support with this activity get hours that are transformed into € through companies and institutions that support this study of the students.
Students who participate in this project of solidary study are given a solidarity card that is equivalent to the registration in the Solidarity Study for Development Cooperation.
The hours dedicated to the study, in their respective homes, will be endorsed by the parents or guardians who will sign the hours studied. They thus become not only the direct beneficiaries of this activity in the student, but also are considered protagonists of the change process that Together with the students of the Congo, we promote the improvement of education in that country.
