The councilor for Finance and Recruitment, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, has responded this morning to the spokeswoman of the Ahora Murcia group, Alicia Morales, after her criticism in relation to the awarding of the maintenance contract for public lighting.
"It is really surprising that Murcia is now the one who asks to investigate the award of this contract.
This is the only training that has not attended the Hiring Committee for months, specifically since Luis Bermejo left that municipal group.
They do not attend nor do they report the reason for their absence, so the demagogy that prevails in their way of acting is even more evident in this case. "
Specifically, they do not participate in the meetings since April 20, 2017.
For that reason, now Murcia does not know all the explanations offered at the table, which informed the reason for the modification of the specifications and the technical reports they advised.
The popular councilor recalled that if the opposition groups are part of the recruitment tables is because the Mayor wanted it, since no rule requires their presence.
"But our willingness to maximize transparency and participation in municipal management has given them access to these meetings," adds Martínez-Oliva.
Of course, "as in the rest of the procedures, it has been carried out in accordance with the law and based on the reports made by the technicians, municipal professionals who know the needs of municipal lighting maintenance.
At all times the only criteria that have been taken into account are those established by the technicians.
The sheets are written or modified by the technicians, not the politicians. "
"Murcia can rest assured that all the contracts approved in this City Council have the guarantee and support of legality," concluded Martinez-Oliva.
